I purchased two of these units around ten years ago. One is still workkng fine. The other just wore out from heavy use. I would highly recommend this TTY Phone Unit if you have the specific needs it provides. I also just purchased two additional phones for future use. In addition, I own an Alertmaster System which has improved my Quality of Life and the unit is still working after 10 years of use. Diglo provides exceptional service and product availability for the deaf and hearing impaired. I would highly recommend Diglo and their products to improve your Quality of Life.

After looking online throughout Canada and being disappointed in the selection and prices, I was able to find this phone at Diglo. at a decent price and it was also the phone I wanted for my mom as it had TTY and VCO capabilities. Until we get CapTel in Canada, this is the next best thing. The purchasing process through Diglo was smooth although the package came faster than the shipping tracking number! Good thing I was home when the package arrived.

The City has a number of offices that offer TTY telephony for hearing impaired customers. The Ultratec Uniphone 1140 is our latest purchase after using the 1000 series for many years.. The phones are user friendly, reliable and we've never had one fail. If a TTY telephone is what you're looking for, look no further than one of the Uniphone models.

When I lost my hearing 23 years ago, this TTY was recommended to me so I bought it from a dealer. The TTY has lasted longer than the dealer. But with age it needed replacement and was happy to see that the 1140 is still in production so naturally I purchased a new one.
This is a great phone especially if you can place VCO calls. If you have hearing people in the household, no need to purchase an extra phone because this phone will handle both hearing and TTY calls.
