The Sonic Alert Sonic Boom alarm clock has a built-in outlet for connecting a lamp and an auxiliary jack for a bed shaker (sold separately). The lamp can be used for both reading and flashing.
If you want to use this clock as a receiver to be notified of events in other rooms, you will need to purchase a signaler or transmitter that will activate this receiver.

Finally I got new flash light with alarm clock last week because I’m looking for it so long
I had been my old old flash alarm clock more than 35 yrs worn out
I prefer flash light then vibration well very very loud and I can hear alarm clock everywhere rooms even outside wow I feel embracing what neighbors will hear them sound likes fire station lol…

I had old alarm clock that quit working and had green lights so bright, it will not dim. Had to cover it. When I got new alarm clock and it does dim when I turn the light off. Yay! Love it. I don’t have to cover it. I told my friend about it and she ordered for herself. ??

I bought this model a couple of years ago and
last week it started making odd noises in the
night and, as it was plugged into the bedside
lamp, the light started flashing at all hours.
Very disconcerting!

I had this clock for a while. It was convenient to use and of course, I loved the snooze feature. However, the switch used to turn on the bedside light started to become too "sensitive." It would take a bunch of tries to get the light to turn on and stay on. Last night it was making crazy clicking noises and the light was flickering wildly. I unplugged the light from the back of the clock but it continued to make the rapid clicking sounds. I was fearful of electrical fire, so I unplugged the thing. It's unsafe. Not covered under warranty and not recalled as far as I know, so I am not going to buy this clock again. Now that I see another review with the same problem, it's something to be concerned about.

I have had no trouble with this alarm clock. Of course, I have a built-in backup. If I try to sleep a little longer after the alarm goes off, my cat hops on the bed and pulls my hair!

I have to say this is the ugliest clock I have ever seen, but it works like a charm. One time I bumped the switch from vibrate to lamp. I thought the vibrating piece stopped working. So I sadly put it in the garage until I could send it in for repair. But today I found that it still works! I had just bumped the side switch. So careful with the switches on the side, always check them if something stops working.

Works OK for flashing a light in early morning so I can wake up myself without waking my wife up too, but it also chatters the light on & off unexpectantly. It scares my wife sometimes when the light chatters on & off without warning at odd times. I suspect a neighbor has a remote device with almost the same frequency, so my clock senses a signal and tries to activate (even with the alarm switch off), so I'm forced to unplug my lamp and turn alarm switch off until I set it up before bed for my wake up alarm.

I love this clock. I had borrowed one from the Sanderson Center for Deaf and Hard of Hearing for three months before I purchased my own, and I am so glad I did. The noise is deafening (even for me) and the light going on and off, well, is hard to ignore. I didn't get the vibrating attachment since it hadn't been a feature I needed, based on my experience with the loan from Sanderson. Three cheers for Digloon on this great product!

I had a similar clock for 8 years. It is the best clock for me because vibrators will not wake me up. It was deteriorating from the normal wear and tear. I ordered another one recently and the current one is a little easier and better than the old one. Unfortunately, the new one did not have a test button on the bottom of the clock like the old one. Hence, I rate this with a 4-star.

We purchased the Sonic Boom Alarm Clock for our daughter, who wears a hearing aid and has always awakened to a flashing light. Although this Alarm Clock has a sound wake-up as well, the flashing light alarm is what she needed to replace her trusty old alarm that finally wore out. Arrived sooner than expected, well packaged in styrofoam, attractive and easy-to-understand controls. Only time will tell, but it looks perfect for her needs!

Light switch so sensitive

I have the same model except it has black frame, not white as in this model. Apparently that the complaint is the light switch still so sensitive as my model. once you press it gently, the light flicks on then off. I had to play with that switch until the light stays on. sometimes it caused my bed shaker to go off with that swtich. Didn't the manufacturer redesign the interior circuit design and use new component inside? Probably not. Perhaps just the cosmetic on the outside. :-P

I've had mine for probably 5 years, the knobs for the sound alarm fell off within 2, which wasn't a deal breaker for me since I only use the light and shaker. Have the same problem as the others with the light switch not working correctly, and now the bed shaker cord has frayed, so now that doesn't work either. It's cheap plastic all around.

I have had this clock for years... And wish there was another clock that has a plug in adapter because I also use this for baby cryer monitor (using the Sonic Alert BC 400 Baby Cry Transmitter) as well.. And wish another alarm has a receiver as well.. But other than that I love this and this is my 4th clock.. I use the light as well as my alarm and baby monitor..

I use this alarm clock for the flashing light option. My only complaints are that it is too bulky for travel and I've had to purchase a new clock every 4-6 years because the buttons wear out. I have had at least 4 clocks now.

Truly wonderful! Have had a Sonic Alert Alarm Clock for many years. When one wears out, I order another because this is one product that you can trust to do its job. I only use light & bed shaker, not the sound.
I prefer to use the light switch on the clock rather than the room's light switch. Five year warranty = major important. As has been said before, when there is a problem, Diglo & Sonic Alert fixed it immediately. My only suggestion is to keep your fingers off the digital display; use fingers to move the white support frame which is what that frame is for anyway.

This Alarm Clock is Awesome!!! My husband is deaf,(very little hearing) and hates the bed shakers. This clock Wakes Him Up!! The pitch is high enough him to hear it a little, and the flash sequence for the lamp is perfect for him. I love not having to wake him for midnight shift. Great product!!
