I have been wanting this for a long time, but am less than 100% pleased with it. I have used the regular sonic alarm bed shaker clocks for years, and all have worked well. However this unit rotates between the flash, audible alarm, and the bed vibrator as opposed to having all go off at the same time and continuously. I don't use the audible alarm because I can't hear it with my hearing aids off (and don't want to disturb the rest of the household). Many times it will not wake me up due to the extended delay of the bed shaker. Secondly, the instructions are not intuitive at all, and setting the alarm and notifications take many steps which would be a burden to older folks. There are NO instructions on how to turn the alarms off and on. (I'm not talking about cutting it off when it is going off...but to turn it off if you have no need for the alarm the next day...like on the weekends - it took me 30 minutes of playing around on the unit to figure it out) Lastly, the cell phone app. How do I put this nicely?.... well, I can't...It sucks. The only thing it will do is connect with the unit so that the unit will go off if I have an incoming call. But it could and should do so much more. It should alert me to one of the transmitters going off if I am not in the room with the unit. I bought the multifunctional transmitter so that when I have to care for my elderly mother, she could push it and notify me. This works fine if I am in the room with the homeaware unit, but not if I am away from it. The app on the phone should notify me...but it doesn't. I think Sonic Alert really needs to address these issues (especially the bed shaker issue)...and possibly hire some new hip 20something who truly understands mobile apps to rewrite their phone app. Especially with how much they charge for the unit and different transmitters...it should work perfectly.
