Silent Count is the true story of a high school football coach who hears perfectly well, but finds himself coaching the country's only deaf college football team. Set in our nation's capital at Gallaudet University during the fall of 2007, Silent Count is an easy read that will make you smile, chuckle and even laugh. It will also bring a frown to your face, at times. Share the coach's unique journey as football becomes a bridge between cultures, a story that neither the coach nor the reader will never forget! [Jim Overmier; (2013) 379 pages; soft cover]

About the Author

Jim Overmier is a native of Annapolis, Maryland. A former junior college quarterback, Jim began coaching high school football in 1996, after resigning his commission as an officer in the US Air Force. In the summer of 2003, he launched Jim Overmier's Quarterback Academy, a private, quarterback training program for student-athletes who aspire to play the position at the high school level and beyond. He continued to coach high school football, at both public and private schools until 2013, with the exception of one year: 2007. Jim ventured into teaching collegiate football when he accepted the position of quarterbacks coach at Gallaudet University. It would become the most unique experience of his coaching career.
