A primary purpose for using SEE (Signing Exact English) is to present a consistent and complete signed form of English. Signing exact" English implies that English can be presented in a signed form with vocabulary that has been altered using affixes. There are few English words that cannot be changed with the addition of a prefix or suffix. The base sign vocabulary of SEE can be expanded from 4 400 signs to well over 60 000.

A question that is frequently brought up in sign language classes asks how a signer determines whether a word to which an affix is applied is really the base word from SEE. This book is intended to be a reference for signs that can be created from base signs using the affixes. [(2003) 329 pages; soft cover]
